Hearts for Dinner

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching and my sweets kick I seem to be on, I though I would bring you a perfect recipe for this weekend. Especially if you’re staying in and cooking for someone.

I’ve made pasta before but one thing I’ve always wanted to make and never did was chocolate pasta. I opted for ravioli because I wanted to attempt making it heart shaped. It’s a fun way to celebrate the holiday!

what you need:

what you do:

  1. In a mixer combine flour and cocoa

  2. Make a well in the middle and add eggs

  3. Slowly add in the water while the mixer is running

  4. Attach a dough hook and knead until smooth

  5. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and let sit for 20 minutes

After that, just make the type of pasta you’d like. I cut out hearts, and filled the ravioli. I pressed the ravioli together with a fork. Then I added the ravioli to boiling water. They are done when they come to the top. I also served with strawberry sauce.

MK loves cannolis so for the filling I used a combination of ricotta cheese, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and mini chocolate chips.

Happy Thursday! Hope it’s full of fun!
