Feeling a little mad this Friday?
You’re in the right place then.
Alice in Wonderland has been a long time favorite book and movie of mine. But especially The Mad Hatter. Such a cool and interesting character! Plus Johnny Depp really brought this character to life in the newer movies. Having said that, when I came across a cocktail recipe called “The Mad Hatter” I immediately said “Well obviously I’m making that!”. But I had a vision. This was no hurry and throw it together cocktail. I needed drama! I accidentally found Fancy Sprinkles (seriously check them out) and they sell editable glitter for drinks. I used the prism powder called Colombian Emerald. We also thought it was a good time to bust out our smoke machine…
Toss all ingredients into an ice filled cocktail shaker and shake!
Cocktail notes:
I added a few drops of green food color because I wasn’t totally happy with the color green.
I added the prism powder last and generally stirred it in.
I wasn’t able to find orange sugar so I used red gel icing for the rim and added yellow sugar to give the illusion of orange.
It’s pretty, and tasted great!
I hope this weekend has a ton of fun and maybe a touch of madness, too.
