The Transitional Secret Weapon

Now that my Fall Fashion post is officially out of my head, I can focus on the other fun fashion things.

This week, in “What I Pulled”…

As you probably know I’m a very busy Mama to a five and three year old. They are both in some form of school so my days start early. Which is exactly the way I prefer it. I’m completely ready for the day and have their lunches packed by 6:30 am. This requires an outfit that is really going to be able to hang in there all day and not make me want to light it on fire.

I’m not one to always be thinking of comfort when it comes to style but some days demand it. What I pulled for a busy day of school drop off/pickup, errands, cleaning my house and whatever else I may have done was both stylish and comfortable but also great for this transitional weather here in Southwest Pennsylvania.

One of my secret weapons for the transition into fall weather is black bike shorts. Not only are the possibilities endless with dressing them up or down, they are so cozy. Mornings right now are chilly so I grabbed a seasonally appropriate print to layer that was lightweight. I threw it on over top of my black bodysuit and bike shorts for an instant look. But, once it warms up (or you break out into an uncontrollable sweat from getting small children out the door), take it off and tie it! Still cute, still put together, and you aren’t dying of a heat stroke.

For the shoe, a bootie is my favorite for this time of year. These chunky heeled shoes are perfect for a look with cool tones like this one. Finish the look with silver accessories (cool tones, see?). To further talk about completing the look, I ACTIVELY tried to not wear a hat. I just couldn’t stop myself from wearing one. I’m a hat girl. Why hide who you are? Haha!

Here’s to hoping your week is fantastic and full of good things!

Fast Fash Fall Fashion 2023

Hello and Happy Friday!

I wanted to post this much sooner but MAN, August into right now has been a DOOZY! Between two of the four of us having surgery, doctor appointments, school starting, a crazy photo business, and back to school sickness, I’ve had NO time to even finish a thought. But, here we are my Fall Fashion List. Seven of my favorite trends for the season…

This is my eighth year sharing my favorite Fall Fashion trends. This is truly one of my favorite posts that I do all year long. And as always my disclaimer is: if these, or any, trends are not your cup of tea then freakin’ skip it. Never wear something you don’t like simply because it’s “in”. My favorite vibe this season is Old Hollywood Glam. See especially seven.

1. Tulle and ballet like items

I’m not personally into ballet flats but a tulle skirt? Oh always! There will always be room in my life for a full tulle skirt!

2. Barbiecore.

Now, we could have all seen this coming miles away but pink isn’t going anywhere and it will indeed be everywhere. Even after the Barbie movie craze has subsided pink will remain.

3. Peplum

I’m thrilled that this trend has returned. This look enhances the waist because it cinches smallest part and doesn’t emphasize hips.

4. A good suit

Think Blake Lively in A Simple Favor. I love a good suit in my soul. Sure this is “trending” but what a fantastic timeless look. My favorite place for a suit is always Express. Another bonus? Sneakers or heels and you have a different look. Take off the blazer, another different look. Go from day to night in a flash. See the platform mirror pics!

5. Platforms

Let’s talk my favorite shoe trend. That’s right, platforms are back and my Spice Girl loving inner child is thrilled! Now you don’t have to go as extreme as I have but I’m sure leaning into this. After all, it helps with how short I am. Kidding I’m 5’9, but hey, my Husband is tall.

6. Deep V’s

Another favorite of mine always in trend or not.

7. Big Fur Coats & fur stoles

(for the cold, obviously)

This is also a non trend for me. I have a bunch faux fur coats and tons of faux fur stoles that I wear every single year and I love them! Faux fur is a really big part of my chilly weather personality. Since it’s not even close to this one yet I don’t exactly have it pictured but believe me follow this space and my insta and you’ll surly see it.

As always thank you a million times over for being here, and still allowing me to share my creative with you.

Have an absolutely fabulous Friday!

The Garden Tart

Hello, All!

You can believe me when I say my thoughts are on pumpkins, spooky season, fur, and perfectly chilly days. But, for the moment let’s use some garden veggies that are begging for a purpose. This is truly one of my favorite things to do with a bunch of summer veggies. Not only is this a delicious tart its also Keto friendly. So you don’t have to worry about the carbs with this recipe.

Since we are going to have a lot of layers of flavor lets start with the sauce. Use any kind of pepper I just really liked the vibrant orange since we will be using greens, reds, and yellow in the tart.

what you do:

Mix the dry ingredients, then in a separate bowl, mix melted butter and egg together. Add to the dry and form into a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least half an hour. After that, cover baking sheet with parchment paper, and press the crust into the sheet. Poke the crust with a fork, and bake on 350 degrees for about ten minutes before adding the vegetables.

Here are the veggies I chose:

Add your pepper purée, and top with whatever vegetables you’d like. Throw that in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. With around five minutes left top with feta, goat cheese, or gorgonzola. I picked gorgonzola because it’s my absolute favorite cheese in the world.

This tart is such a perfect way to save your veggies from an unfortunate fate.

So delish!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and as always thank you for allowing me to share my passions with you.
