Fall Fashion 2024

Hello, Friends!

It’s that time of year again! I’m sharing a few of my favorite trends for the fall season. I’ll start with my usual disclaimer which is: trends are just that. If you don’t like one never feel like you should have to wear it. Always stay true to yourself.

I’ve got to say, I’ve had a very busy summer and especially August. From mothering to traveling and everything in between it’s been nonstop. But, today I’m bringing you six of my favorite trends this fall.

  1. Very Wide Leg Denim

Let me start off by saying I still love a skinny jean. But like, honestly I like a ton of different denim and always have. This season is all about big and baggy denim. I surly welcome this because it’s so different from the much loved (by us millennials) skinny jean.

    2. Neutrals - especially Sage Green

This has always been one of my favorite colors to wear (also my eye color). This color is going to be everywhere and you can do so much with it. Add a black and white stripe to it, brown, black, cream. All good ways to wear this trend.

3. Bows!

They are absolutely everywhere this season. On tops, chokers, even shoes. This bow vibe really adds a soft elegant feel to any outfit.

4.Leopard

Now, this is not a trend to me because I wear it all the time and let me honest, I probably always will. So if you have some leopard feel free to wear it knowing you’re on trend.

5. Slip Dresses

I love this trend because you can make this dress work in so many different ways. You could add a cozy fall sweater over it, long sleeve shirt under it, or even a blazer.

6. Over The Knee Boots

This is another one that I usually wear in the cooler months. But, they are once again trending and you’ll be seeing more of them. These boots also really help to make a slip dress feel more like fall.

I might be in Hawaii right now but I will certainly be ready to head home and completely dive into the fall season and fall content.

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Refreshing Summer Sip

Hello!! Happy Friday and Weekend!

There was a point on this blog that I wouldn’t even do a Martini Moment with a cocktail involving Gin. But, in typical me fashion, being that I absolutely hate not liking something, I made myself like gin (I’ll so the same with foods). And let me just say that I now love a Gimlet (usually involving gin) in my soul.

Today is no exception…

This cocktail is perfect for summer. The cucumber really brings out such a fresh taste that I just adore. An added bonus? This drink is fast, easy, and perfect for your next Apéritif (happy hour)!

what you do:

This couldn’t be easier! Throw a couple slices of cucumber at the bottom of a shaker (I did six). Then add your lime juice and muddle. After that, just add in your booze and shake, shake, shake! Pour into a glass of your choosing and enjoy!

When using gin typically the one I grab is Hendricks and as far as elderflower liquor goes I like St. Germain.

Have the best weekend to you all!

The Perfect Summer Bite

Happy Wednesday, you fabulous people!

I don’t do a ton of meat on here because I eat a ton of seafood. But I must admit that I do love a good steak dish from time to time. This dish was so fantastic I was asked to “put it on rotation”. It comes together so fast and really packs a flavor punch.

First, marinate your steak. I let mine do so for about eight hours just to make sure that flavor sank in.

My favorite pesto:

  • One big handful or fresh basil and the same of spinach

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan

  • 1/4 cup walnuts

  • About 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt

For your marinade:

  • Equal parts honey and extra virgin olive oil (like 1/2 cup)

  • Three garlic cloves, minced

  • Equal parts red wine vinegar and soy sauce (like 2 tbsp)

  • Salt and pepper

Add all of that to your food processor and store in the fridge or use. I never buy pesto I always make this. You may need to add more oil if you desire a different consistency. You may also need to splash a little water in it. Also, I love to use walnuts in my pesto but you can use pine nuts as well.

For this just grill your steak as desired. I like mine still pink in the middle. Let it rest for ten minutes and slice. Add mozzarella, pesto, cooked corn, and whatever veggies you happen to have in the fridge. I went with some cherry tomatoes on the vine. Another option is to turn it into a sandwich which is what Mk did. Needless to say this is a crowd pleasing (and simple) recipe for busy week nights.

I hope this summer is treating you well and full of many delicious foods!
