Take Your Friends With You

What I pulled…

For dinner at one of our favorite places!

I had no clue where I was headed with today’s “what I pulled” but I’m very happy with where it ended up. It didn’t hit me until I was finished accessorizing so that’s the focus today. But before that let’s start with the underneath. I got this bodysuit from Intimissimi when we were in Miami. It’s absolutely a new favorite place to shop!

I grabbed my black satin button up and a pair of pants I’ve had for YEARS! I love the colors and the black lace bottom.

And on to the accessories:

So I started accessorizing and when I was finished I felt this warm rush of happiness. I realized why I love to get my friends jewelry for occasions. I looked at what I had on and it was five pieces that four different friends got me. Five if you include my sweet husband. My rings are from him, when I had the kids. Each one had their birthstone (which is the same). It’s so nice to leave the house and take your friends with you.

Jewelry is always so much fun but made better when they represent people you love! So thank you to my friends for making this outfit just perfect.

Oh, and a hat! Because, duh, it’s me. And I looooove a hat!

This Monday of mine is jam packed but I hope yours is full of style and friends!

Weeknight Elegance

Well. Here is busy mom life for you. I never hit post on January 31st! Anyway, here is the recipe that I posted. *shakes head*

Hey, hey!

This recipe is one of my quick and easy, yet still elegant weekday meals. Surly a way to elevate a weeknight meal.

Here’s why this is one of my go to dishes. I always have a crescent dough sheet in my fridge. This is a huge tip I can give you. Grab a couple the next time you’re at the store. The possibilities with one of these are endless.

I had some mushrooms and asparagus that I needed to use before they went bad. This is a great way to use up veggies that are on their way out. I was also craving seafood (which is always in my freezer).

So here’s what you do:

Roll out the dough and cook on 350 degrees for about eight minutes or so. Then pull it out and let cool for a couple. You can use anything here but I mixed vegan sour cream and dairy free plain yogurt as the base and I added garlic, oregano, and basil. Then, throw whatever else you want on there! I used scallops, squid, shrimp, and some shallots. I made sure everything was cooked, added it to my crust and threw it back in the oven for a few minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Like I said the possibilities are endless here. Make a regular pizza, or throw a bunch of veggies on it. Perfect for a weeknight when you don’t have a lot left in ya.

Believe it or not today is finally the last day of January. So thank goodness for that and a more exciting month to come. Have a wonderful day!!

A Simple Sip

Happy Friday, All!

Let’s make a cocktail to celebrate the weekend!

This drink is perfect for walking in the door after work and throwing together a very simple sip. No fresh mint on hand? Honestly you can do one drop of mint extract if you happen to have it. Have neither? Oh well, play through.

what you do:

Throw some mint into a glass with a few wedges of lime and muddle.

Add some ice, then your rum, and top with Sprite (I used Sprite Zero).

Garnish with mint and lime and you’ve got yourself the perfect Friday cocktail with not much effort.

I hope you all have a fabulous last weekend in January. Also how is it still January?

Anywho, cheers, Friends!
