Work Fit

Hey, Friends!

A very major “What I Pulled” today as there are ten! Ever since we started doing dance photos I’ve always taken a picture in the mirror to count the days we’ve taken pictures. It ended up being much more about my outfits. A big interest was taken in that and I’ve kept it up over the years. Since our first dance studio of the year is our longest (ten days), I thought I’d break down each look and even name them (haha).

  1. So Karl

I always need to be able to move in a work outfit. That’s almost the most important part. I love the Karl Lagerfeld brand and my Mom got me a Karl tee for Christmas so I made the look around the shirt. These pants are very stretchy and the long blazer also has a lot of give. For a 12 hour day, this outfit was stylish and comfortable.

2. An Elegant Vampire

Ok so this one’s name make me laugh real hard. I’ve actually had this jumpsuit for years and years and only had worn it once (sadly I’m quite guilty of this). But one thing to think of when styling is layering. I pulled my pieces from the colors of this jumpsuit. First and foremost, I love a cape. I’ll wear one any chance I get. This sheer top actually has a very long bow but I tucked it up and under and pinned it with a bee pin that matched. There were pearls on the cuff and I matched a pearl belt to pull that in. It was also very comfortable being in this jumpsuit.

3. A Simple Favor

I was really channeling Blake Lively in “A Simple Favor” for this look. This suit is from Amazon The Drop designed by Blake Gifford (@signedblake on ig). I love her and her style. I always buy her clothes on The Drop. I was obsessed with Blake Lively’s wardrobe in “A Simple Favor” so that’s surly what I was going for here. I even stole a tie. Also, I love these platform heels and they really worked with this suit for a first time wear. It’s hard to see here but peep that lipstick pin. I’ve decided to make pins a major part of my life now by the way.

4. Cozy Complimentary

Another pair of shoes that I’ve had for a long time and never wore. I was very excited to whip them out. I’ve had this sweater also for a long time and it’s only a second time wear. I love the complimentary colors of ox blood and deep green Spanx leggings. It was also a very cold day and this kept me very warm.

5. Roaring Red

Okay, so again, first time wear on the coat. I had this furry piece altered to be better and was so excited to wear it. Once more, a very cold day and I wanted to stay warm. A big styling tip : belt a coat to cinch in your natural waist so that it give you more shape when there is a bulky piece involved. These studded booties are a huge staple of mine. I wear them all fall and winter. They go with just about everything I own.

6. The Other Side

So I’m a Gemini through and through so I very much have two different vibes. One is dark and edgy and the other is very “Hey Barbie!”. I know I’m getting repetitive here but I’ve been wanting to wear this blazer for so long and finally did. Same with the pants, I tore off the tags when I put them on. I’ve probably had them for about five years. Very often I go shopping in my closet and I love the results. Keep in mind all of these outfits I can move in. I love a watermelon vibe but also pink and yellow just “go”. Think rhubarb and custard. These buttery colors just go so well together. And these sparkle booties are on their way out but I really have worn them to death.

7. Busy Mom Mode

Okay, so on this day I had a very busy day. School delay, a doctor appointment, a trip to Sam’s Club, children pickup, and off to work. This was the only day I didn’t wear heels in the ten days. But I am deeply in love with these off white loafers. I had a different outfit planned but I just didn’t have time. So I had this on from 6am until about 11pm. This vest is one of my favorites and it doesn’t get enough wear. These pants are great, a real Target steal. I have them in about 4 colors. They’re good for a busy mom or… photographer.

8. Green Fluff

It’s been a cold week. So I was really striving for warmth. One big misconception about me is that I only wear new. That’s definitely untrue. I’m actually a clothes hoarder and let me tell you, it serves me well. These pants are amazing but I’ve also had them for about 10 years. They really just worked with the green vibe. Also, this green feather jacket I bought from an Instagram account so long ago. So long that they don’t even exist anymore. Another thing you can’t see here is that I have on matching green pearls I recently got in Hawaii. From my eyeshadow to almost everything else it was all about green (my favorite color).

9. Superhero Vibes

One of the fabulous dancers I photographed said I looked like a superhero in this fit and I’m very okay with this. I couldn’t wait to bust out these new boots. If you buy anything right now its metallic boots. You really can’t go wrong with a royal blue and gold theme. What’s my superpower? Maybe shopping or drinking wine, haha.

Did I make my hair a little pink this day?

…Yea.

10. Mob Boss

The “Mob Wife Aesthetic” is a thing right now and honestly I love it because it is a major part of my own style. But today I was really feeling a Mob Boss vibe. Another altering tip. Here, I’m wearing a black sheer bodysuit, a black crop top, and a blazer over it. I didn’t want actual skin to be showing but wanted to wear this top so I added the sheer bodysuit. And the spiky booties are back and so is the hat. The hat? Much like a cape. I’ll wear one every chance I get. This black one is my favorite. My very first word was “hat” so I guess it all makes sense. I loved fashion from the start.

So many of you showed interest in my “work fits” so if you’ve gotten this far in the post thank you! Thank you for being here, for supporting me, allowing me to share my passions, and for reading this blog. You rock.

Welcome 2024!

HELLO 2024!!

I’m always so happy to welcome a new year and new start! I’m also thrilled out of my mind that this year starts with a MONDAY!I deeply love Mondays.

Every December, I like to reevaluate The Fast Fashionista. Which has been my little corner of the internet for almost ten years. Blogging has changed, content creation has changed, and I have changed. All (for the most part, minus some silly algorithm things) have been good changes. I’m in an extremely content place in my life and after my usual blogging hiatus (where I amerce myself in my kiddo’s birthdays, the holidays, and this year some travel) I’m back again and ready to welcome a New Year. Not a new me that’s for sure. Same me, even though I am always aiming to be better no matter what time of the year it may be.

Anywho. This space isn’t going to look too different in the coming year. I’m still keeping my three categories of Fashion, Food, and cocktails…fast. I’m not the blogger who is going to tell you a three year long story before I give you a recipe. No need for that. Who has the time for that anyways? Not I. This, and my Fall Fashion post are the longest posts. But that’s why I like to keep it. Short and sweet so you can check out something new but also get on with your life. I’m also not the blogger who will monetize. I’ve frequently gotten that question and it’s a simple answer. I don’t want to. This space is for me to share my passions and creativity not to make money from you reading that.

Last year, I started my “What I Pulled” segment. I didn’t get a chance to do as much with it as I wanted so I’m pulling it into 2024 and I’ll continue sharing with you outfits I pulled for whatever it is I’m doing. I’m also adding the science of fashion in with that. Think “dopamine dressing”. The fashion forward part of The Fast Fashionista has always been the most popular. It’s changed over the years from a year of color palettes and the Dior Dictionary year, two of my favorites. But, fashion is such a major part of my life and I love sharing looks and how and why I put them together. I feel style is a constant evolution and I love that so many of you have been on that ride with me throughout the years.

I absolutely have a passion for food! Mostly healthy with some cheat days sprinkled in. I’m pescatarian and dairy free 90% of the time and leave that 10% for special occasions or if I simply must create a certain dish. But I live for seafood so there will for sure be a lot of that.

I really like to focus on a few different things. One being making something that looks complicated and showing you that you can make it too and to not be afraid to try different things. Another being healthy foods made interesting and delicious. Being vegan sometimes can get a bad wrap but I absolutely love being creative in the kitchen, making cooking fun and elevated…usually with a glass of vino in my hand.

Speaking of having a drink in my hand… “My Martini Moment” is a segment that I’ve had around since the beginning. It’s taken on many different shapes and concepts but is now fast, pretty, and delicious cocktail recipes to share or keep for yourself. Since my early employment days of being a bartender (quick random story: I had to fight to be a bartender at a restaurant when I was a brand new 18. After holding a couple different positions there I wanted to bartend. I asked my boss who was, pardon my french, an asshole. He rolled his eyes and said no. After I asked again, thinking I’d never do it, he said he’d give me a daytime bar shift and if I made 50 dollars he would let me be a bartender. Well for my first daytime bar shift I made 150 dollars and I was put on as a bartender. Don’t ever tell me I can’t do something. Ha.) I fell in love with shaking up a good drink and sharing that experience. Experimenting with new cocktails is something (when I have the time) I love doing.

Well that about wraps up my blog breakdown for 2024. I can’t remember where I heard it but I think going into a new year and picking a word for it is really cool. So here’s mine: Elevate. I’m elevating everything baby. Fashion, food, drinks, and every damn part of my life. Down to the tiny details I’m bringing it all up and romanticizing it all.

With all of that said in my longest post of the year, I love that you’re here and that you let me share this part of my life with you. I’m forever grateful I’m able to step outside motherhood and dive into a different part of me that makes me feel alive. It’s a good balance.

I hope this new year brings you nothing but happiness, great outfits, delicious food, and really good cocktails.

Pulling Patterns

Hello, hello!

To add to my very busy life, I’m a t-ball mom now!

Theo really loves it but it sure does make for some busy days. So here is what I pulled for a day of drop offs, pick ups, errands, work, and finishing the day with t-ball.

Since it was chilly layers were very important. Another thing that’s very important? Your favorite denim. These are my go to jeans. Also, a no fail pattern to pull is stripes and plaids! This is a great outfit combination to have at the ready.

Another thing to have at the ready? An umbrella. Because rain, haha!

Have a great Tuesday! Be careful though, as you may know, I don’t trust them.
