Dolled Up

Hello Friends! Happy Tuesday!

As you may have seen on my Instagram, MK and I attended this years Heart Ball this past weekend and I thought it would be the perfect time (as it may be my only super dressed up date night this year) to share this Dior Dictionary Word.

If I’m being honest, 97% of the time I think the word “dreamy” is stupid. But in this case, I just love the way Dior describes a ball gown. He truly makes it sound, well…dreamy. Even in a time when they dressed up far more than we do now he still creates such an image.

It was so fun to get all dressed up with The Husband. As I said, we, rarely get very dressed up these days. So I feel like this is a good reminder that every now and again, it’s important to dress up with your significant other. And as Dior said, having a beautiful gown in your closet is just as important as a suit and great for when you need to look nice for a fancy occasion.

Glam In Gloves

As I dive right into this post, I have to first start off by saying I absolutely long for the days of ladies not leaving the house without their hat and gloves. Such an amazing moment in not just fashion, but history as well. Sadly as the generations have progressed, it seems so many have gotten away from putting themselves together in public. I’m talking to you lady in tweedy bird pjs grocery shopping.

Isn’t it funny to think of a time when a glove could be too fancy?

I’ve long had a love affair with gloves. Nowadays, we use them mostly for winter only. I thought I would share a few of my favorite moments wearing gloves. I agree very much with Dior on the long gloves and chose to wear them on my wedding day. Don’t worry my Mom and I cut a slit so we would exchange rings on the alter. Haha!

These longer black gloves have been my favorite for a long time. I’ve taken them all over Europe, and they are so warm while still looking chic. Linking a similar pair below!

It was very chilly when we were in Amsterdam and yet again, these gloves saved me!

When we were in Rome, one of my top five things I needed to do there was buy a pair of colorful gloves. This was instructed by Kate Spade a something to do in Rome. Well I found this totally amazing glove shop! I wish I could have bought them all! Of course I went with green.

It’s cold out there today! Better grab your favorite pair of gloves!

Swooning Over Skivvies

The perfect Dior word for Valentine’s Day week! 

I have so much to say about this topic that I almost don’t know where to start...

One thing that is still absolutely true is that lingerie is that it is the basis of good dressing. The amazing thing about lingerie is that it can totally transform your mood, the way you walk, and also the way you look in your normal clothes! 

I’ve always loved lingerie and have a pretty huge collection but I think it’s so cool how it has made its was into current fashion with bodysuits. It almost becomes more than lingerie. It becomes a statement.

A difference from the time Dior was in and now, is that I think lingerie as gotten a little less serious. Don’t get me wrong, really good lingerie is worth the splurge and I love my La Perlas but I also like to play with different colors and styles without having to break the bank. 

So even if you’re the only one seeing your Skivvies this Valentine’s Day, have fun with it and make yourself feel pretty!
