Fabulous Fall Fashion

Happy Friday All!

I haven't always appreciated the four seasons where I live. When I was younger all I cared about was the warm weather and swore I'd move one day. Well thank goodness I didn't. The older I got the more I came to appreciate and love snowstorms and of course all things Fall. One thing I've always, always loved was Fall Fashion. Every August I do a post about the things I'm just loving for the fall/winter season. So here they are. I hope you enjoy!

1. Animal Print

You've seen this one on my Insta. Even though this is a trend that I wear if it's "in" or not, I'm LOVING seeing it everywhere even more. Mostly in coats but add any animal print to your look this fall and you'll be so on point.

2. Capes

3. The high waist and MOM JEANS

I'll just be here prancing in the vineyards feeling like a superhero. But seriously this is easily my favorite trend this year.  Again though, this is one I rock all the time no matter if it's a trend or not. From Christian Dior to Fendi, capes were all over the runways. I love a cape outfit for many reasons but first, it's a great silhouette and second it's such a chic, luxe look without being stuffy (in my opinion). A cape really speaks to my style.

I talked about this in one of my Instagram posts. I'm obsessed with the high waist! And Mom jeans? YESSSS! Remember in the 00's when jeans were so low rise thongs would hang out? I'm looking at you Paris. Hey, I'm not saying that I wasn't one of those low rise lovers but let me tell you no more. The Mom Jean coming back is pretty perfect timing for me.

4. Yellow!

I've always been a fan of a dressed up, dressed down look. This fab tee from Missguided quickly became a favorite of mine. It paired super well with this long yellow skirt (also Missguided). The great thing about this one is that this color was on trend for summer so anything that you got for summer will translate perfectly for fall. Budget friendly! Just add a shaggy sweater to this look and you're ready for cooler weather.

5. Camo

"I saw Candy Heron wearing army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops." I so fondly recall the time (about ten years ago) when this trend was very real. Well now camo is back. This time around is a little more sleek. I paired mine with a bodysuit and vest. Play with some mixed patterns here like leopard.

6. Herringbone and Plaid

These are two great prints to pull into your fall wardrobe this year. I have a great Plaid jumpsuit that I can't wait to wear! Print mixing is also very on trend this year so these are two awesome prints to play with as far as it comes to mixing your patterns.

7. Ruching

Not only does this trend elongate your frame but it's also SO flattering on any body type. The ruching on the side of a form fitting dress or skirt is very forgiving (thank goodness). Side note: Mom Bod is so hard you guys. Uh.

8. Fur Accents

9.Tulle

Of course fur is in this season but it's all about a colored fur accent. Add this to pretty much any look for a little bit of glam and oomph! By far this is always one of my favorites for the colder season. If you're struggling with an outfit cause you're too tired or maybe cold? My go-to is all black with a colored fur. Thigh high boots, a skinny black pant, and a basic long sleeve black tee. Finish it with a top knot and you are good to go!

Few things are more girly tulle. I for one am loving this trend! The Western trend? Not so much. That one just isn't for me. But twirling in tulle! Yes please!!

I hope you enjoyed my Fall Favs! Have a great and stylish weekend!

Lovely Lavender

Happy First Day of Spring!!!

I'm ignoring everything they are saying about the impending snow we are supposed to get. I can't hear yooooou! Anyway. After Pantone named the color of the year "Ultra Violet" it was pretty safe to assume we would be seeing a lot of purples this season. Lavender has been a runway staple for this season. Now, I can totally understand if you aren't a fan of this color trend but if you are and aren't so sure how to wear it I'm giving you a couple Fast Tips on how to rock it this season.

Pair it with a yellow. They are complementary colors and will always look good together.

On the flip side of that you could wear a print that has similar colors that are on the same side of the color wheel.

If you aren't so into colors, rock an all black look letting the lavender speak for itself.

Improving Your Own Style

Hello and Happy Monday!

I'm starting this week with some serious ways to improve the style you already have.  Before I say this let me first say that each persons style is their own and if you love it then that is simply that. But here are five fashion tips that could help you elevate your current style.

1. You're dressed head to toe in all the current trends. It's just too much. Pick a favorite trend and only wear that. For example, I've always loved bee's but thanks to Gucci they are everywhere! And my Steve Madden flats are my go to shoe at the moment but they make a pretty big statement. So when I wear them I tone down everything else.

2. Pick an era you love and emulate it. I love a more edgy glam look myself so I've always been drawn to the Gatsby Era and the 50's when people actually cared about what they looked like. Again with the over doing it, I know someone who just loves the 60's and why wouldn't you? It was an amazing time. But she'll wear a birdcage on her head every day. It's a bit much. Blend your right now style with the era you love.

3. Don't panic shop. This was a lesson I absolutely learned the hard way. You've got an event coming up but you put off getting something to wear until the last minute and before you know it you're sweaty in a dressing room hating everything or paying $35 for overnight shipping on something you aren't even sure about. The fix? Shop all the time! Kidding. I can see my MK cringing reading that. So maybe not all the time but always stay on the lookout for a great dress that you love, or amazing pieces that you know you can make a great look out of.

4. Only wear things you love. I've purchased things that I thought could work you know if I put it with this or that. I didn't love the fabric but it could work. Turns out not so much. I never wear those pieces because I didn't love them. Buy what you truly love. Your wallet and closet space will thank you.

5. Wear things over again. This is something that I really had to work on myself. I have an off white coat that I deeply love and wear it all the time. Its a huge cold weather staple for me. From helicopter dates, exploring Paris, or just a night out. Learn to love your staples!
